  •     Tips To Select The Right Engineering Branch
1.      Try to know what kind of job you will get after completing the degree.
For example, after completing a degree in CS/IT, you will get job-related
to computer software, hardware, networking, cybersecurity, etc.
2.      Try to know which kind of job you will be interested to do
which will help you in choosing your branch.
3.      Consult with students pursuing engineering or have completed engineering.
Ask them about the ranking of various branches, about campus placements of the branches.
This will also help you in choosing your branch.
4.      If you are interested in government jobs then core branches will be preferable.
Private sectors give you a good salary and fast growth but jobs are not secure.
  •      Core vs Non-core branch
The advantage of these core branches (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) is that there are lots of government and public sector jobs for these branches. Though there are government jobs for non-core branches as well, the number of posts for non-core branches in the government sector is generally low.

In non-core branches like CSE or IT, you can get good and fast growth in the IT Sector as compared to the government sector. At the same time, jobs are not secured in the IT Sector as compared to in the government sector.
