IMPORTANCE OF MARKS
Sadly in our country, marks are a way to determine an individual’s intelligence, and to some extent are a matter of pride as well.
MARKS IN ENGINEERING
When it comes to a conventional career like Engineering, wherein thousands compete for a single shot at a big number, it's imperative to carve a niche for yourself and make your interviewer feel you have something that others don’t, that can be your practical knowledge and skills.
- Marks are extremely important because they generally are the preliminary shortlisting criteria during placements.
NOTE: "while they might get you that interview spot, they’re not enough to get you hired. What’s more important than getting marks is building your skills."
- Another case where marks maybe quite critical is if you wish you study further and are applying to top programs. While many Indian programs conduct entrances, International programs treat your standardized test scores & your undergraduate GPA as a mark of your intellectual capabilities.
"However, in both cases, one needs to have a factor that distances you from the crowd."
The current education system focusses mainly on getting students passed by:
- Providing a very compact syllabus.
- Without covering the topics currently used for industrial applications.
- More classroom sessions rather than on-field practicals.
" Looking at the above conditions, an engineering graduate most focus on building his skills along with maintaining a good(7&above) CGPA ."
Developing practical skills is much more important than just scoring high marks throughout your four-year degree and then remaining unemployed due to lack of skills.......
